Our kitchen design is always site specific. The building may call for a more traditional construction with the aesthetic of a working ‘furnished room’. In this case freestanding cabinets are made in solid timber with varied additional detailing. Framed, hand painted cabinets, exposed butt hinges, hardwaxed timber and mixed open shelving resist the feeling of a generic ‘block’ of kitchen.
Other sites may require a more pared back, quieter construction where a more modular modern design is called for. Here, we favour the use of materials such as birch ply, handle-less doors, quartz and geometric tiles to give a cleaner, lighter toy-like appearance.
